Advisory Board Member

Dede Crough started training her first flyball dog, Hershey, in September 2001.  They have been addicted to the sport ever since.  In May 2007 Hershey achieved her ONYX title through the North American Flyball Association (NAFA®).  Dede also has trained her three rescue shelties to play, as well as many other dogs through club practices and classes at area facilities.  When not competing at tournaments, she and her dogs enjoy performing demos - the most memorable was during halftime of a NY Jets preseason game at Giants Stadium!  They have been featured in newspapers and magazines, as well as on television and even radio.

The owner of Give A Dog A Break(sm), a dog walking/training business in Glen Moore, PA, Dede has dabbled in dock diving, and is currently training her youngest sheltie in agility and herding.  In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of Y2K9s Dog Sports Club (www.y2k9s.net), a position she has held since 2006, and on the NAFA® Marketing and Development Committee for two years, she is a Founding/Associate Member (#18) of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (www.iaabc.org), one of the founders of the Truly Dog Friendly website (www.trulydogfriendly.com), a member (#64715) of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (www.apdt.com), a member of the No Shock Collar Coalition, and an active supporter of sheltie rescue.  She has earned several Certificates, including a Certificate with Distinction, through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute (www.casinstitute.com), where she intends to continue her studies as time per
mits.
